Leon County Commissioners are mourning the death of Jane Sauls. The former commissioner served the public for more than 50 years.
Sauls died late Wednesday night. She leaves in her wake a legacy of public service. She worked for 32 years in the clerk of the circuit court’s office and served five consecutive terms on the Leon County Commission representing the people of District 2 where she pushed for projects including the Fort Braden and Woodville library branches and the Fort Braden Community Center. County Commission Chair Nick Maddox says Sauls will “forever be an inspiration for elected officials and public servants everywhere.”
