For 49 Days, Tallahassee Memorial Made Up Of 49 Flags Will Honor Orlando Shooting Victims

On Friday, Governor Rick Scott honored the 49 victims killed during the Orlando mass shooting with a Tallahassee memorial.

Along with his wife Ann, Governor Scott remembered those who lost their lives at the Orlando nightclub. They were also joined by Florida Cabinet members: Attorney General Pam Bondi, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, and Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater.

Scott directed 49 Florida state flags be placed in front of Florida’s Historic Capitol for 49 days. The name, age, and photo of each victim are displayed under each flag.

In a statement, Scott said, “The memory of this horrific tragedy will never be forgotten.”
