Tallahassee Continues To Strive For Budget Transparency

City of Tallahassee

Tallahassee Commissioners are expected to get a first look at the city’s new open government website next week. Budget Officer Robert Wigen talked about plans for the site during a March commission meeting.

“It allows staff to present information in a format that’s visually appealing, but if somebody wants then to delve into it deeper, the tables are there. There’s a response tool,” Wigen said.

The site will include information and revenue and spending sorted by fund and account type. It will also track visitors. And the city says it can use that information to gauge stakeholder interest in various area of the budget.
