Florida Lawmaker Has A Plan To Fight Red Tape

One Florida lawmaker says U.S. citizens are swimming in a sea of red tape and he’s pushing the federal government to clean it up.

Rep. Daniel Raulerson (R-Plant City) wants to send a message to the federal government. His measure encourages congress to propose an amendment requiring a majority vote on regulations in specific cases. Raulerson presented his bill to the House Local and Federal Affairs Committee Wednesday.

“Ladies and gentlemen by sitting in this hall and having this discussion, it’s likely that we are violating a local ordinance that we have no idea about," Raulerson said. "And the fact that you think that might be a plausible statement is where we have to start by making these statements and efforts and trying to revise the regulatory environment in this country."

The bill is a memorial, which means it’s really just a suggestion given to the federal government.
