Gov. Scott To Get $500M In Tax Breaks After Senate Inks Final $100M Deal

Governor Rick Scott will be getting his half-billion dollars’ worth of tax breaks for Floridians.

The Senate has approved an extra $105 million in tax breaks Thursday.  The deal divvies up the funds between a dozen different proposals, including extra tax breaks for manufacturers and new sales tax holidays. Senate Appropriations Chairman Joe Negron explains the package.

“The first is the three day back-to-school holiday that Senator Flores filed. The Second is the nine-day hurricane supplies holiday—it will be May 31 through June 8 the beginning of hurricane season, that Senator Bradley filed," Negron said discussing the plans.

Also on the list of deals: tax breaks from cement mixing drums and pet foods prescribed by veterinarians.
