The Turner Center 2024 Literary Fair will feature local and regional writers/authors, launch the Turner Center’s 5th Annual Art of Writing Contest for area youth, spotlight the Center’s Young and Adult Writers Leagues, and highlight other literary resources available at the Center. The event has approximately 20 available spaces for writers/authors, and will include author talks, writer workshops, free book giveaways, book sales and book signings. Turner Center RAC members can enter for free; non-members $10. The Fourth Annual WoodFest, celebrates the beauty of the grain! Works made of wood, carved, painted, pieced, repurpose all from wood. No buy sell....only support bits like handles etc are permitted. Artists from around the region will be there to show and sell their work. A special artist - John Birch - chainsaw carver will be there demonstrating his skills and producing a work that will be raffled off!

Quilters Unlimited of Tallahassee is presenting their largest ever quilt show. They will amaze you with their creativity, skill, and dedication. Traditional, transitional, and modern styles will be on display, representing both hand work and machine work. Some of the quilts in the exhibit are for sale. Visit our vendors, gift boutique, and live demonstrations. Bid in our silent auction. Get a chance to win our signature Kaleidoscope quilt. Kids activities include a quilt-related scavenger hunt. The Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s Director Tiffany Baker and Director of Research and Programming Rachel Basan Porter will share some of the special stories related to Florida’s Capitol buildings. The presentation will feature their favorite images from the 2024 book, "Florida’s Historic Capitol Building."

The program is free and open to the public.

NOTE: This program will take place at the Union Bank Museum, which is just across S Monroe St from the entrance to the Florida Historic Capitol Museum. Limited public parking is available in lot 4 next to the Union Bank. Metered street parking and downtown public garages are also available.
