Kick off Preservation Month 2024 with Rotunda Rendezvous at the Historic Capitol Museum! Spend an historical evening under the iconic dome for the debut of the Museum of Florida History’s “Rendition of Florida’s 1824 Territorial Capitol,” a model inspired by an artist rendering and meticulously crafted by artisan Conrad Brayman.

After a ribbon cutting and welcome from Secretary of State Cord Byrd at 6:00 PM, you will be able to examine the display up close and ask questions about its construction. A “First Capitol” scavenger hunt will keep you moving around the building and through temporary exhibition Becoming Florida’s Capital.

Snacks and drinks will be available during this free event, however registration is required.

Have you ever played your way through an art gallery? Come and play some familiar board games that we’ve hacked to explore the exhibitions. Try your hand at our take on some old favorites during Game Night!

We have an exciting event for you! The Big Bend Model Railroad Association is celebrating its 33rd Annual Tallahassee Model Railroad Show and Sale with a 2-day event!

The event will take place on Saturday June 22, 2024 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday June 23, 2024 9 am - 4 pm at the North Florida Fairgrounds, Buildings 2 & 4, 441 Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, FL 32301 located at the corner of Paul Russell Road and South Monroe Street.

We anticipate having about 40 vendors utilizing 150+ tables for displaying new and used items for sale ranging from the tiny "Z" to the large "G" scale. Products from LGB, Aristocraft, Lionel, American Flyer, Atlas, Kato, Walthers, Broadway Limited, Bachmann, Con-Cor, Life-Like, Micro Trains and much more will be available bringing you the very best the area has to offer in model railroading and accessories.

This year the show will feature T-Trak layouts in “N”, “HO” and “Z” scales with some as large as 40 feet long. Various T-Trak modules designed and built by members will be on display. The T-Trak aficionados from various clubs interacted to form an alliance to promote T-Trak modeling. Modules from other train clubs will also be featured this year.

Other layouts in G Scale, O Scale and Live Steam will also be displayed.

The various BBMRA Division railroaders have been busy building and upgrading their layouts by adding animation and enhanced technologies for better operations. It's a family-friendly setting and there’ll be some things you’ve never seen or heard before from our model railroaders.
Experts on model train layout design, equipment, construction, landscaping, and technology will be on hand along with vendors featuring a wide range of trains and other model railroad items and apparel.

Everything is inside the air-conditioned buildings (including areas for you to “sit and eat” or just “rest your feet”). Food will be available for purchase on the premises. On-site Parking is Free.

On Saturday, May 11, Pyramid Studio will host the 3rd Annual Pyramidpalooza music festival from 5 pm - 8 pm EDT at the American Legion Hall on Lake Ella.

The doors will open at 5 pm with an art show and sale featuring originals, hand-crafted jewelry, craft items and prints created by Pyramid Artists.

From 5:30 - 6:30, you can groove to the Southern Boogie sounds of our opening act, the Lil' Grizzly Boogie Band!

At 7 pm, Studios' premier rock band, The Electric People, will take the stage to finish out the evening with music that will keep your heart soaring ALL NIGHT LONG!

We are excited to have Tomas Guerrero, the director of the legendary Santo Rico Dance Company. It was founded in New York and is now currently based in Orlando, Florida. Tomas Guerrero, has significantly influenced and shaped the style of Mambo dance as we know it through his work over the past two decades. Coming from a street dance background, Tomas is an innovator in the art of dancing mambo-style salsa. In 1998 he developed the “Santo Rico Spin Technique,” where he incorporated multiple continuous spins in his choreographies and established a curriculum for multiple spins for follows. Under Tomas’ direction, Santo Rico became one of the world’s most influential salsa dance organizations, serving as an inspiration and training platform, especially for New York’s most well-known dancers, performers, instructors, directors, and dance companies. He will be teaching a salsa footwork and partnerwork class on May 25th from 9-10:30 pm. Social dancing starts at 10:30 pm. Don't miss it.
