  • Venvi Art Gallery is thrilled to announce The Architecture of Pattern, a two-artist exhibition of works by artists Christina Klein and Selena Nawrocki. This exhibition will be on display from September 4th to October 17th, with its opening reception on September 4th from 5-8pm.

The Architecture of Pattern brings together Selena C. Nawrocki and Christina A. Klein in an exhibition exploring the relationship between space, memory, and material. Nawrocki's layered abstractions suggest interior worlds shaped by color and emotion, while Klein's materials reflect patterns in the natural world and the fabrics they inspire. Together, their works invite viewers into something deeply personal, that examines not only the nature of how our world is built, but how it is remembered. For both Nawrocki and Klein, inspiration begins with the built environment, though each approach it from a distinct perspective, Nawrocki through the symbolic movement of staircases that map emotional journeys, and Klein through daily observations layered into imagined environments. Together, the artists reveal architecture not simply as physical structure, but as a repository of history, emotion, and lived experience, inviting viewers to consider the lasting impact of the spaces we inhabit and leave behind.

Christina A. Klein earned her B.F.A. from Kansas State University and her M.F.A. from Florida State University. Her artistic practice has been shaped by her rural Kansas upbringing and studies in Austria and Germany. She currently lives in Oakland, California, where she does custom woodworking.

Dr. Selena C. Nawrocki is Professor of Interior Design and Art at Valdosta State University. She received her B.F.A. from Mississippi University for Women, her M.F.A. from the University of Memphis, and her Ph.D. degree from Mississippi State University. She is professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC). An award-winning artist and educator, her work has been featured in more than 150 international juried exhibitions and has received multiple Best in Show honors.
