  • Are you ready for a musical rebellion pitting man against mainframe? On Saturday, August 15, The Pyramid Players of Tallahassee-Studios will take the stage at The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette Street, to present Radio Underground!

Co-written by Pyramid Studios’ playwriting class and powered by an electrifying lineup of retro 80s rock anthems, Radio Underground is a sci fi musical that throws The Players into the roles of ragtag weary rebels rising up against the all controlling Motherboard. When an old jukebox is unearthed, its forgotten music sparks a surge of creativity and defiance—setting off a chain reaction that just might prove humanity’s greatest strength lies in what they can create together.

Will they prevail? Join the resistance on August 15th at The Moon to find out!

    - Doors open at 5 pm EDT with a silent auction and an art show featuring the works of Pyramid Artists statewide.
    - Hors D'oeuvres will be served from 5 - 6:30 pm.
    - Curtain is at 7.

The Pyramid Players and Artists study their craft at Pyramid, Inc., an arts-focused nonprofit adult day training program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Honoring the Lives of Four Remarkable Women
Emily Hall. Henriatta. Lucy Carter. Susan Coles.

161 years after Emancipation was proclaimed in Florida, Goodwood Museum & Gardens invites you to bear witness to the powerful, untold stories of four women who were once enslaved in Tallahassee.

From the shadows of bondage to the strength of freedom, Emily, Henriatta, Lucy, and Susan lived lives marked by resilience - becoming mothers, wives, landowners, and freed women.

On Wednesday, May 20, all Main House tours at Goodwood will be dedicated exclusively to these extraordinary women and their enduring legacies. Tours will take place at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m., and are free to attend in observance of Emancipation Day. Guests are encouraged to explore the grounds before or after their scheduled tour. Goodwood’s grounds are always free and open to the public during museum hours of operation.

Through these tours, Goodwood Museum & Gardens seeks to center the lives and experiences of these women—acknowledging their resilience while offering a fuller, more honest interpretation of the site’s history.

Join us as we remember, reflect, and honor the strength and spirit of four women who helped shape our shared history.
