    Do you have old rechargeable devices or lithium-ion batteries collecting dust? Bring them to the Sunrise Rotary of Tallahassee's Battery Recycling Drive! Currently, less than 5% of these devices are recycled — you can help change that.

    Accepted items include: Rechargeable tools, loose li-ion or nickel metal hydride batteries, electric toothbrushes, wireless headphones, Bluetooth speakers, smartwatches, tablets, and cellphones.

    Give your old batteries and devices a second life — and keep them out of the landfill!

  • Hadestown weaves the Greek mythology tales of two pairs of lovers – the young Orpheus & Eurydice and the at-odds Hades & Persephone. With narrator Hermes guiding you through the story, audiences embark with Orpheus to the underworld to retrieve his love Eurydice from Hadestown. It is set in the 1930's Great Depression Era in New Orleans and mixes New Orleans Jazz with Soul.

  • The Carrabelle Chamber of Commerce invites all to a fun-filled time along the historic Carrabelle waterfront. The 2026 Carrabelle Riverfront Festival is a day of family-friendly activities, live music, a car show, unique entertainment, colorful arts & craft, and delicious food on Saturday, April 25 from 10 am - 6 pm ET. There will be plenty for both the young and old to enjoy along the beautiful harbor at this FREE and pet-friendly festival.

    The festival will feature fun for the whole family, including children’s mini-train rides, a bouncy house, and a kids' craft activity station. Families can also enjoy special photo opportunities with Merlissa the Mermaid, a magical favorite who will be visiting with guests. Plus, a variety of vendors will be on hand with kid-friendly favorites like face painting and funnel cakes, adding to the festive atmosphere.

    Feet will be tapping to the upbeat favorites of some gifted musicians, including the talented Danny Welch of Sumpin' Old & Sumpin' New who covers multiple genres, with a little comedy thrown in and Steve’s Steel Drum playing Caribbean and Beach music. Guests will also be delighted by the wonderful dance performances of the Forgotten Coast Dancing Witches. The entertainment doesn’t end there as there will also be fun music by DJ Beanie Baby.

    Tons of festival vendors will be offering unique arts and craft items, delicious food, yummy treats and interesting products. Food vendors will be offering shrimp, conch fritters, kettle corn, funnel cakes, shaved ice, gyros, empanadas, wings, grouper, mullet, snapper, sausage dogs, hamburgers, gourmet sodas and lemonades, donuts, and lattes. Plus, there will be regional, family-friendly exhibitors including Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum, Crooked River Lighthouse, Apalachicola Area Historical Society with engaging displays, Florida Wild Mammal Association with their animal ambassadors, and Tate’s Hell State Forest with Smokey Bear on Avenue B. Visitors can explore the local shops, museums, and cafes for even more choices.

    Curfew Masonic Lodge #73 will be hosting a Car Show, with classic, vintage, and custom vehicles from 11 am - 4 pm ET at George Sands Park. Car collectors and enthusiasts will showcase their prized automobiles, offering guests the opportunity to admire a variety of cars, trucks, and more at the corner of SE 3rd St and US Hwy-98.

    The Airing of the Quilts, hosted by the Lanark Village Wandering Star Quilters, returns to Sands Park from 9:30 am-3 pm ET, transforming the park into an outdoor quilt gallery. This free event will celebrate America's 250th Birthday with an impressive display of patriotic quilts, other beautiful quilts made by this talented guild and vintage quilts displayed along the fence and throughout the park.

    The Carrabelle Riverfront Festival is hosted by the Carrabelle Chamber of Commerce, funded in part by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council and sponsored by Centennial Bank, Duke Energy, Air-Con of Wakulla, Emerald Coast Federal Credit Union, Angler’s Edge Marine, and C-Quarters Marina.   • The Sunrise Tallahassee Rotary in cooperation with Mac Daddy Blues Productions presents Camp Jam 2026, featuring former Buddy Guy guitarist Frank Bang. The concert is at The American Legion Post 13 in Tallahassee on Saturday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. Food will be available on site.     In this interactive group activity, participants will receive a medical illustration guide and create their own illustrations. They are encouraged to express their style and use visual strategies, aiming to convey dignity, beauty, and truth rather than sterility. This workshop is led by artist and professional medical illustrator Candii Allen.

    Inspired by “𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧,” this freeform workshop invites you to take a brief tour of the exhibition and create works of art that explore our relationship with the things around us. Through a series of prompts, collaborative discussions, and artmaking, this event will inspire creative thinking, imagination, and reflection on how our human bodies relate to non-human objects.

    We encourage you to bring personal items you would like to include in your work of art, or photos of things you feel connected to (we can even print an image for you).

    All materials will be provided, and free parking will be available in the Call Street Garage.
