You're invited to attend the WFSU 2024 EdCamp! Edcamp is a personalized, participant-driven approach that gives educators control over what they learn and fosters a strong sense of community among attendees. Participants propose topics they want to discuss or learn more about, build the agenda, and then choose sessions to attend based on their interests and experiences. All attendees are encouraged to share ideas and methods that will enhance their practice. Our goal is to create a positive space for educators to share experiences and ideas that will build community and inspire one another. All educators are welcome, and admission is free, breakfast and lunch are included. There will also be the opportunity to get a professional headshot. Eureka! An Evening of Science at the Library

Ignite your curiosity with an exhilarating evening of science exploration! This program is designed for adults with a passion for discovery and a thirst for knowledge. Explore the scientific mindset and hone your critical thinking and reasoning skills through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions. Apply these skills, not only to scientific issues, but to everyday life to understand the world around us.

This program is in partnership with the Office of STEM Teaching Activities at Florida State University and Tallahassee Scientific Society and will be led by Todd Bevis, Director of Professional Development Programs.

A themed mocktail and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Come celebrate our 30th Anniversary Concert Season featuring Manhattan Chamber Players, piano quartet, 4 pm, Opperman Hall on Sunday, September 15. The Manhattan Chamber Players are a chamber music collective of New York-based musicians who share the common aim of performing the greatest works in the chamber repertoire at the highest level. Formed in 2015 by Artistic Director and violist Luke Fleming, MCP is comprised of an impressive roster of musicians who come from the tradition of great music making at the Marlboro Music Festival, Steans Institute at Ravinia, Music@Menlo, Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival, and Perlman Music Program, and are former students of the Curtis Institute, Juilliard School, Colburn School, and the New England Conservatory.

At the core of MCP’s inspiration is its members’ joy in playing this richly varied repertoire with longtime friends and colleagues, with whom they have beennperforming since they were students. Its roster allows for the programming of the entire core string, wind, and piano chamber music repertoire—from piano duos to
clarinet quintets to string octets. While all its members have independent careers as soloists and chamber musicians, they search for opportunities to come together and collaborate, which create "a mellifluous blend of vigorous intensity and dramatic import, performed with enthusiasm, technical facility and impressive
balance, relishing distinctions…a winning performance.” (Classical Source)

As we barrel toward America’s 250th, one could argue that if we crack up before we get there (some bad days we’d take even odds), it’ll have something to do with the complexity of being in charge of executing one of the founders’ biggest ideas — that the church and the state were to be separate in this new nation of theirs. (It had been so much “easier” when the king told all us peasants what religion we were.)

Our framers, for the first time in history, asserted that a citizenry had “natural rights” as human beings, given to them only by God, to follow (and be responsible for) our individual consciences — including the right to not believe at all. These rights could then not be taken by the government. Those dudes in tights, both Christian and Deist, had birthed a country where all sorts of religious belief would thrive.

Turns out high principles about freedom for everyone all at the same time wouldn’t be a piece of cake and after 250-ish years of disagreement, we’re still haggling over those darn specifics — partly because we’re masters of not seeing the log in our own eyes.

God Squad will be doing what they do best — saying what needs said, while throwing a little empathy and respect out into the universe for the people who just don’t see it their way. With a little more of their unique version of mutual respect spreading from sea to shining sea, in fact, might we make it to 300?

Join Domi Station for its Limiting Beliefs Workshop presented by All-In Coaching, a 45 minute workshop focused on helping you perform at a higher level! Here is what the workshop will look like:

1.Bring some of the beliefs that have been holding you back to discuss.
2. You will get the opportunity to learn HOW to overcome your limiting beliefs so you can replicate this in your business and life.
3.Participants will walk away with written instructions on how to implement their new belief systems and overcome what was discussed during the interactive workshop.
This workshop is led by executive business coach, Lucas Barrara.

The entire theater building becomes the Wicked Widows basement. This is a fundraiser for Kaleidoscope Theatre.
