Update 4:48 p.m.: Leon County Republican Party Vice Chairman Evin Power says Tallahassee is catching up with the rest of the state when it comes to contentious campaigning

Update 5:30 p.m.: Florida Secretary of State's office has a customizable link to target specific state races. Only an hour and a half left before the polls close!

Update: 7:02 p.m.: Polls are closed, the wfsu news team is out in the field and Tom Flanigan and former Tallahassee Mayor Penny Herman are live in the studio.

Update 7:15 p.m.: Penny Herman on Leon Co. history and how time's have changed, "lobbyists in city hall" are a big difference. Alva Swafford-Striplin getting an early lead in the Leon County School Board District 1 race against Forrest Van Camp.

Update: 7:26 p.m.: Democratic State Rep. Michelle Vasilinda with nearly 84 percent of the vote is cruising toward re-election. 15,000 early votes cast ahead of today's primary.

Update 7:29 p.m.: There could be a possible upset in the Leon Co. School Board race with challenger Alva Striplin taking the lead with more than 52 percent of votes over incumbent Chairman Forrest Van Camp.

Update 7:36 p.m.: Curtis Richardson talks negative campaigning. Says he wants to move forward. Richardson with a 7-point lead over Diana Oropallo in City Commission Seat Two race

Update 7:42 p.m.: George Sheldon leads House Minority Speaker Perry Thurston in race for Democratic attorney general nomination. Winner will face AG Pam Bondi in November.

Update 7:45 p.m.: Penny Herman talks lack of local candidates-- why so many incumbents were re-elected without opposition. "I think some people run because they feel they [incumbents] should have to respond to questions."  If you're going to run, be prepared to spend money.

Update 8:01 p.m.: Jefferson Co. Supervisor of Elections Office says it's having problems with its website. Can't get any returns from Jefferson right now.

Update: 8:05 p.m.: Gadsden Co. Supervisor of Elections Office says may start posting returns in about an hour. No returns have been posted to its website yet.

Update 8:15 p.m.: Andrew Gillum far ahead in the Tallahassee Mayoral Race
