Protesters who take their demonstrations to people’s homes could face jail time and fines. A proposed Senate bill addresses unlawful assemblies that target residences. Gina Jordan reports the legislation comes amid rising cases of harassment among elected leaders.

For years, some lawmakers have been pushing major re-writes of the Baker and Marchmann Acts—two key pieces of law that enable people to be involuntarily committed for psychiatric evaluation. The latest effort is again in trouble. Lynn Hatter reports while Republican Sen. Aaron Bean describes his proposal as more of a “tweak” to the system, some stakeholders suggest there’s a LOT that’s left undone.

Some South Florida educators are concerned about two bills moving through the Florida legislature that would restrict classroom discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity. WLRN’s Sherrilyn Cabrera has more.
