Hundreds of Florida teachers, some representing thousands of union faculty members, were in Tallahassee yesterday (Wednesday) to protest a bill they call “anti-educator.” From WMNF in Tampa, Daniel Fegueroa the Fourth reports the bill went on to clear Wednesday’s Senate committee meeting anyway, but teachers aren’t giving up the fight.

Transgender athletes would effectively be banned from playing in girls’ or women’s school sports under a bill moving forward in the Florida Legislature. Robbie Gaffney reports L-G-B-T-Q advocates say the proposal is harmful to transgender youth.

Legislation that would make it harder for people to sue businesses for failing to follow coronavirus safety protocols came up for a vote in the Florida Senate today (Thursday.) Business associations and health care provider groups have backed the bill, but not everyone is in favor of the measure. Valerie Crowder spoke with personal injury lawyer Michael Feiner.
