The Art of Nature Summer Camp at Pebble Hill Plantation

Join us this summer for an exciting summer camp adventure at Pebble Hill Plantation! Budding naturalists will explore the great outdoors at Pebble Hill through nature observation, journaling and sketching, bird watching, creative art projects, and more! With the guidance from local naturalists and artists, campers will learn how to observe and sketch nature applying similar techniques used by famous naturalists and artists like John James Audubon and William Bartram. Each day will be filled with fun, hands-on, outdoor learning experiences and nature-based art creations that will inspire campers to develop a curiosity and connection with the natural world around them while nurturing their artistic expression. The final day of camp will include a family and friends' reception and public art exhibition of the campers’ nature-inspired works of art.

Dates: Monday, June 8 – Thursday, June 11, 2026

Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

*We do not offer early drop-off or aftercare.

Thursday, June 11 – Parents invited to attend The Art of Nature Summer Camp Exhibition at the Pebble Hill Plantation Learning Center.

Details:

This summer camp is for youth ages 8 – 11 years old.

Space is limited to 14 participants.

Registration fee: $150.00 (No refunds)

On January 29, 2026, at 5:30pm, you are invited to the opening reception of “Like everything alive that we try to hold forever,” an exhibition that brings the work of seven artists together to reflect on ways that our human bodies exist in relation to non-human objects.
Through photography, sculpture, and video, the artworks in “Like everything alive that we try to hold forever” start to navigate the many issues that come with being human. Refreshments will be provided. The reception is free and open to the public. You can park for free in the Call Street Garage after 5:00pm. The exhibition will be on view until June 27, 2026.
Like everything alive that we try to hold forever is curated by Elizabeth Diggon, Naomi Potter, and Shauna Thompson. The exhibition is organized by Esker Foundation and produced as a traveling exhibition by Independent Curators International (ICI). Funding for the exhibition tour has been provided by the generous support from ICI’s International Forum and the ICI Board of Trustees.

Join The Grove Museum on June 10th for children's storytime!
We will be reading "Feathers for Lunch" by Lois Ehlet on June 10th at 10 AM. Storytime will be followed by an activity, and we encourage families to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the museum's grounds following the program.
The program is FREE and open to the public! Storytime at The Grove is recommended for children ages 8 and younger.
