Are you ready for a musical rebellion pitting man against mainframe? On Saturday, August 15, The Pyramid Players of Tallahassee-Studios will take the stage at The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette Street, to present Radio Underground!

Co-written by Pyramid Studios’ playwriting class and powered by an electrifying lineup of retro 80s rock anthems, Radio Underground is a sci fi musical that throws The Players into the roles of ragtag weary rebels rising up against the all controlling Motherboard. When an old jukebox is unearthed, its forgotten music sparks a surge of creativity and defiance—setting off a chain reaction that just might prove humanity’s greatest strength lies in what they can create together.

- Doors open at 5 pm EDT with a silent auction and an art show featuring the works of Pyramid Artists statewide.
- Hors D'oeuvres will be served from 5 - 6:30 pm.
- Curtain is at 7.

The Pyramid Players and Artists study their craft at Pyramid, Inc., an arts-focused nonprofit adult day training program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mapped Journeys in Color & Verse features the abstract works of Susan Antoinette and local abstract artists. Combining vibrant color with thoughtfully incorporated phrases, her pieces serve as visual maps of life’s journeys, inviting viewers to reflect on personal paths, experiences, and the stories that shape us.

Join us for a delightful Saturday morning celebrating art, community, and creativity at Muffins & Mimosas! Enjoy a special artist talk with featured artist Susan Antoinette as she shares the inspiration, stories, and creative process behind her work in Mapped Journeys in Color & Verse.
Guests are invited to enjoy freshly baked muffins from Uptown Café & Catering, coffee provided by Argonaut Coffee, and mimosas from our in-house bar while exploring the exhibition and connecting with fellow art enthusiasts.
During the event, the Community Youth Orchestra of Tallahassee will perform live in the LeMoyne Arts Plaza area, providing a beautiful outdoor musical experience.
Whether you’re a longtime supporter or visiting for the first time, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist, experience the exhibition, and enjoy a morning filled with art, music, and community.

“Floating Metal” extends nia love’s long-term serial project UNDERcurrents, which explores the enduring histories of the Middle Passage and transatlantic slavery. Engaging with her father Ed Love’s artistic legacy as a major sculptor of the Black Arts generation, this newest iteration reckons with the vexed matter of inheritance in Afro-diasporic history.
The performance program of “Floating Metal: UNDERcurrents In My Father’s Garden” will run from August 27-29: August 27 and 28 at 5:30 pm, and August 29 at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm. Tickets are free, but space is limited. Reserve your seat now. A public reception marking the exhibition's opening will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Movement collaborators Cyan Hunter, Marco Farroni, Makeda-Lily Love-Roney, Jesse Phillips-Fein, Jelani Taylor, Diana Uribe, and Jessica Ziegler join nia love in animating this installation with choreographed scores and improvised actions. Within this whirl of activity and speculation, Floating Metal: UNDERcurrents In My Father’s Garden blurs distinctions of audience and performance, animate and inanimate, land and water, past and present.
The presentation of "Floating Metal: UNDERcurrents In My Father's Garden" by nia love was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation.
