Jefferson Arts Gallery celebrates America’s 250 hosts the FREE Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services World War 1 – Lessons and Legacies Poster Exhibition courtesy of a grant from the Department of State Division of Arts & Culture. This free exhibition examines how the Great War accelerated major changes already underway in the lives of Americans – changes that continue to impact our world today. World War 1 posters were printed by the millions. They were plastered alongside or on top of product advertising that covered nearly every inch of public space. Even celebrities got into the act.
