Wildflower Wonderland Tour

Wildflower Wonderland Tour

Experience the art of nature abounding in beautiful springtime blooms! Come explore as we hike the property looking for wondrous wildflowers at the peak of spring bloom season. The privately-owned preserve nestled deep in the Apalachicola National Forest near Sumatra, FL is a magnificent longleaf/slash pine savannah rich with rare plants and rare habitats. The preserve has become a safe haven, a refuge, for rare, endemic, or imperiled species in the Apalachicola Lowlands region now including one of Florida’s rarest plants! Home to 20 known species of federally or state listed plants including some carnivorous varieties, as well as common delights. Led by outdoor educator, Ryan Means, this tour is perfect for wildflower enthusiasts, nature photographers, and lovers of natural history. Sat/Sun, April 6/7, 9:30AM-2PM. Your $25 tour fee goes to support management of this property. Driving directions given upon registration. Coastal Plains Adventures, (850) 544-5661.
