But this isn’t just about the ride — we’re raising money for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, helping build beds for local kids who don’t have one. Because no child should sleep on the floor — not in our town.

We’re excited to host our annual peer conference, The Gathering: Recovery Rising, a powerful day of connection, storytelling, and shared tools for healing. We are creating a welcoming, empowering experience for all attendees while showing our community outstanding peer specialists, professionals sharing their own experiences to enhance the recovery of others, for the incredible work they do in our community on a daily basis. Big Bend Cares’ fall event, the Tallahassee AIDS Walk, draws hundreds of participants each year. This year’s walk will be held on Thursday, September 18th at 6:30pm at the Southwood Nature Trail. We are celebrating the 35th Annual AIDS Walk this year, working alongside partner organizations Neighborhood Medical Center and Bond Community Health Center.

Individual community members, school and university groups, companies, and faith groups can register to walk as individuals or as part of a team now by clicking the ‘Register’ button above. Walkers are encouraged to also become fundraisers themselves and help us reach our goal. After a memorial walk around the Southwood Nature Trail (starting at the intersection of Ivy Green Trail and Grove Park Dr.), we will gather to listen to speakers and music.

This event will be a celebration of all of those who have fought so hard to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS. All proceeds help Big Bend Cares in providing direct-care services for our clients and HIV prevention and education for the entire Big Bend region.

Join us on Thursday, October 2nd for an unforgettable evening at Chords for Charity: A Night for Boys Town. Delight in a delicious dinner as we come together to celebrate and support the incredible mission of Boys Town. Learn about the impactful work being done to transform the lives of children and families in our community. The night will culminate in an exhilarating dueling piano show. Don't miss this unique opportunity to make a difference while enjoying great food, inspiring stories, and lively entertainment.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9 the Community Center of Good Shepherd will be alive with displays of clothes, blankets/quilts, arts and crafts, baked good and seasonal items - all handmade by members. Proceeds from this event will provide food for hundreds of families in need and other church mission projects. Admission is free and payment may be made by cash or check.
