Lunch and Learn: Tallahassee's First Legislative Session
Lunch and Learn: Tallahassee's First Legislative Session
In November of 1824, Governor William P. Duval sent a message to be read to the Legislative Council to open the first session held at Tallahassee – the new seat of government in the Florida Territory. Find out about this historic event as we mark the two-hundred-year anniversary with a presentation by the Honorable John Phelps, former Clerk of the Florida House of Representatives and Staff Director for the Senate Rules Committee.
The program and lunch are free and open to the public, but seating is limited. RSVP at https://FirstTLHSession.eventbrite.com.
