🌉 Bridge the Gap: Spring Creek Celebration Hike 🥾

Join the Florida Trail Association for a special guided hike celebrating the completion of the new Spring Creek Bridge at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge.

This is more than a walk to see a bridge. This is your chance to hike with the FTA staff who helped build it and get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to complete a major trail project in a remote and beautiful part of the Florida Trail. You’ll hear about the planning, challenges, construction process, and plenty of “you had to be there” trail stories from the crew who helped make it happen.

Whether you’re a longtime FTA member, a curious hiker, a refuge visitor, or someone who has been meaning to get involved, this is a great chance to experience the Florida Trail up close and learn how FTA staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters work together to keep the trail moving forward.

🥾 Hike Details

Distance: Approximately 3 miles round trip

Time: About 2.5 hours

Location: St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge

Departure Times: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM

Parking area is near the trail. There is no physical address. Here is a link to Google Maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3tSUGe8Uo4x7sY3S8 The GPS coordinates are: 30°06'05.2"N 84°19'44.8"W - head south on Spring Creek highway, take a right on Jack Crum Road, and look for FTA signs on the left.

Participants should be prepared for uneven trail conditions, warm weather, insects, and a coastal trail adventure with a brand-new bridge as the star of the show. 🌿
