34th Annual Pilau Dinner at the Thomasville History Center
34th Annual Pilau Dinner at the Thomasville History Center
The Thomasville History Center's Election Night tradition began in 1993, and 34 years later, we're still cooking!
Join us Tuesday, November 3, for our 34th Annual Pilau Dinner, a beloved community tradition that brings neighbors together in support of local history. First introduced to the History Center by Jasper Davis in 1993, this annual fundraiser has grown from a dinner supporting renovations to the Smith Log House and Kitchen into one of the organization's signature community events.
For just $12 per plate, enjoy traditional South Georgia chicken and rice pilau (pronounced "per-loo"), seasoned with black pepper and served with coleslaw, sweet pickles, crackers, and dessert.
Drive-thru pickup is available along Jerger Street from 4:30–7:00 p.m. Guests are also invited to dine picnic-style on the History Center grounds beginning at 5:00 p.m., with live music from the historic Smith Homestead porch. Bring your own chairs or picnic blankets and beverages; limited table seating will be available.
Whether you're continuing a family tradition or trying pilau for the first time, we hope you'll join us for an evening of good food, music, and community fellowship!
Proudly sponsored by Thomasville National Bank. Proceeds benefit the Thomasville History Center's operations and educational programs.
