2nd Annual "Tails & Trails" an event for Dog Lovers
Pebble Hill is honored to be the site of the 2nd Annual Tails & Trails event benefitting Thomasville Humane. This is a family-fun event for dog lovers of all ages! Live dog demonstrations and exhibitions of different dog breeds (police dogs, foxhounds, and retrievers among them). Local artists will be displaying and selling their work. Enjoy a “trail tromp” with your canine friends (must be on a leash) through a beautiful portion of the grounds at Pebble Hill. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased by visiting https://www.thomasvillehumane.org/ or day of the event. All proceeds benefit the animal welfare efforts of Thomasville Humane. Your paid admission entitles you to a free self-guided tour of Pebble Hill's historic grounds and outbuildings. For a $20 cooler fee, you may bring your own beverages and picnic (no glass containers, please).
Do not forget to tour the “Identity & Restraint: Art of the Dog Collar” exhibit in the Elisabeth Ireland Poe Gallery while you are here for the Tails and Trails event. This wonderful canine art exhibition is brought to Pebble Hill in cooperation with the National Sporting Library & Museum in Middleburg, Virginia and the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog in New York, New York The exhibit features a portion of the largest dog collar collection in the world. The collars and artwork in the exhibit date from the 17th to the 20th century and explores the development of the relationship between man and dogs and the evolution of the dog collar. The fee to tour the exhibit is $10. Purchase your ticket at our Visitors Center. The exhibit is open for touring Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
