2026 Bicentennial Lunch & Learn Series: Pebble Hill Plantation: A 200-Year Legacy

2026 Bicentennial Lunch & Learn Series: Pebble Hill Plantation: A 200-Year Legacy

The Jack Hadley Black History Museum, Pebble Hill Plantation, and Thomasville History Center present a free Lunch & Learn Speaker Series exploring the people, places, and stories that have shaped our community over the past 200 years.

As part of the 2026 Bicentennial Lunch & Learn Speaker Series, Pebble Hill Plantation Curator Lori Curtis will present highlights from the exhibit Pebble Hill Plantation: A 200-Year Legacy on Tuesday, April 7 at noon. Drawing on her fifteen years with the Pebble Hill staff and her work as Curator since 2016, Curtis will share stories, photographs, and artifacts that illustrate two centuries of life at the historic plantation and its connections to the founding and growth of Thomasville.

Currently on view in the Elisabeth Ireland Poe Gallery at Pebble Hill Plantation, the exhibit explores the people, traditions, and pivotal moments that have shaped the property over the past 200 years. Through archival materials and objects from the plantation’s collections, audiences will gain a deeper understanding of Pebble Hill’s evolving role in the history of Thomas County and the broader region.
