Florida A&M University President Larry Robinson’s contract has been extended for another year. The university’s board of trustees recently approved the extension along with an 18 percent bonus.
The decision comes after Robinson received an above average evaluation. He received high marks for his efforts to increase research and development as well as a significant bump in alumni-giving. Robinson credits the board of trustees and the university’s faculty and staff with the school’s success.
“I’m just proud and y'all don’t realize how proud I am and how honored I am to serve at this capacity," Robinson says. "We go through this assessment every year, and we have to do it and I appreciate it and not everyone agrees on everything which makes it good too but I just want you to know I have to give a huge shout out to the people at the University that makes this train work."
The 18 percent bonus was recommended by FAMU Trustee Keith Lawson and will add on to Robinson’s nearly $452,000 salary.
