Representative Gwen Graham spoke to residents at Allegro Senior Center on Friday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Medicare.
She says the program is important for North Florida seniors who depend on it for health care.
“When Medicare was put into place, nearly half of our seniors didn’t have insurance, and now 4 million seniors are covered by Medicare," says Graham. "And it gives those who have contributed so much to our country a peace of mind.”
Graham also met with residents individually. They were able to ask her questions and voice concerns.
