Congresswoman Graham Reports $1M Fundraising Haul In 6 Months

Gwen Graham signed a pledge to reject government perks at Lake Ella Thursday.

North Florida Congresswoman Gwen Graham has raised more than a million dollars ahead of her 2016 re-election campaign. U.S. House members are up for re-election every two years.

Graham’s fundraising comes as a preemptive strike against any potential candidates eyeing her seat. No one is challenging Graham, yet, though several are considering bids. Graham beat former Congressman Steve Southerland of Panama City last year to represent Congressional District 2—which covers 14 North Florida counties.

In a statement, the Graham campaign says since January it’s collected more than 7,800 online contributions with an average donation of $12.60.  Contributions listed on the Florida Department of State’s website also show big contributions from Political Action Committee’s across the state.
