Florida’s democratic gubernatorial primary now has two contestants. Orlando area businessman Chris King says he wants to be governor. King released his first campaign video Tuesday.

“We need a whole new generation of people who are rising up saying how are we going to care for people better? How are we going to help Floridians?" He says in the video. "I’m a 3rd generation Floridian. I love Florida. I grew up in Florida. I got married in Florida. I started a business in Florida. I am committed to the success of Florida.”

King's father, David King, was lead attorney for the plaintiffs in a lawsuit alleging the Senate violated the state's Fair District's Amendment in the drawing of state Senate and congressional district lines. Both sets of maps had to be redrawn.

And his company, Elevation Financial Group, focuses on remodeling and investing in affordable  and senior housing units.

King joins Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum in seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination so far. Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine and trial lawyer John Morgan have yet to announce whether they’ll jump into the race. Former Congresswoman Gwen Graham says she will make an announcement soon.

King will have a campaign kickoff announcement at 6 p.m. in Orlando.
