Tallahassee City Commissioner Dianne Williams-Cox spoke with WFSU’s Tristan Wood on Candidate Convos, a digital series featuring one-on-one interviews with local candidates for office in Tallahassee and Leon County ahead of the August primaries.

Incumbent Dianne Williams-Cox has defeated former Mayor Dot Inman-Johnson to win another term in City Commission Seat 5.

"I'm feeling honored, I'm feeling blessed that the people have spoken and decided that they want me to continue to serve the community," Williams-Cox said.

Williams-Cox was first elected to the City Commission in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Her victory secures a third term representing Seat 5.

She has been part of the commission's three-member majority alongside Mayor John Dailey and Commissioner Curtis Richardson.

"I'm focused on serving the people, I'm not focused on serving commissioners, I'm focused on serving the people," Williams-Cox said.

Williams-Cox campaigned on continuing the city's existing policies while expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities. She emphasized increasing housing supply, supporting workforce training and attracting higher-paying jobs to Tallahassee.
