Big Bend Hospice is looking for volunteers in Crawfordville to help hospice caregivers.
Volunteer coordinator Andrea Zinkersays most people believe working in hospice is a sad job.
"It's actually not. This is the most fulfilling job I've personally ever had. My volunteers always tell me how much they get out of the visits and how meaningful it is to them personally as well,"Zinker said.
She hopes that by clearing up this misconception, more people will be encouraged to volunteer.
Big Bend Hospice provides services to patients and families across nine counties in the Big Bend region.
Zinker says they only have 11 volunteers at the Wakulla County location. She would like to get at least 20.
She says those interested in volunteering can apply online on the Big Bend Hospice website or call to RSVP ahead of the volunteer orientation October 20.
