Tallahassee's Neighborhood Medical Center is adding a full-service pharmacy to its South Monroe Street location near Orange Avenue. CEO Jeanne Freeman says it will make the facility a one-stop-shop for its clients.
"You can get your medicine right here, so it cuts down on anxieties about transportation and anxieties about where am I going to go. You're going to have all of those services that you need right here in our health center."
Freeman says the new pharmacy should open sometime around the first of August.
"The amazing part of it is we're all local, bringing a needed service back to our community. We're not the big chain pharmacies. We're homegrown people trying to take care of our own."
This will be the third locally operated pharmacy in the South Monroe corridor, joining the existing Carepoint and Bond Community pharmacies.
