Alabama Shakes and Lamont Landers played at the Adderley Amphitheater in Tallahassee on Tuesday.
Both soul and southern rock musical acts hail from the same area of Alabama. In a recent interview, Landers said the Shakes were a direct inspiration to him growing up to get into music professionally.
“When I was coming up, there wasn’t a whole lot of stuff happening in Alabama music wise. And they were for my generation, the band that you look at and think ‘Oh, you can make it out of here and actually make it on like, a national level, a worldwide level,'” he said.
WFSU's Tristan Wood attended both performances, taking pictures of his act and the people from around North Florida who traveled to Tallahassee to watch them.
