The National Parkinson's Association says Florida ranks well above the national incidence of the disease. A local event this Sunday, April 26, will provide proven help for the area's Parkinson's patients.

Kim Bibeau's Sweat Therapy Fitness in Midtown began offering a special physical exercise program to help slow the advance of Parkinson's about 15 years ago.

"In 2011 we raised some money for TMH in partnership with the FSU Medical School and that's when I learned about the connection between exercise and Parkinson's disease."

To make the program available to more patients, Bibeau says a special event happens this Sunday at Bradley's Pond.

"We've teamed up with the Tallahassee Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters' Association International. Some of the performers will be Bobby Kennedy, Tracy Horenbein, (and) Drew Whitfield, just to name a few of them."
