Leon's Early Learning Department Director Brooke Brunner (at the lectern) welcomes parents, staff and representatives from the Leon School District.

The Leon County School District has brought programs serving its littlest students together in one place.District officials, parents and others were on hand March 6 for an “official” grand opening of the Early Learning Hub.
Sarah Anders son is graduating from Leon Schools' voluntary pre-K program this year.

"I'm happy to say my pre-Ker is a reader. So he'll be reading before he goes to kindergarten and (applause) I have this whole campus to thank for that."

Alliyah Perryman's daughter is in an even earlier learning program.

"She can also say her ABCs when prompted, she can count to 10 when prompted, and she's only two!"

Both parents credit the district's new Early Learning Hub for their kids' remarkable progress. The Hub, occupying several buildings on Trojan Trail near Lincoln High School, has actually been functioning for a number of months. Department Director Brooke Brunner says it combines several complimentary programs and learning resources in one place, giving parents and students greater access.
