Tallahassee has lots of special events and festivals each year. But one of these is pretty much unique to the Capital City.

All across America, there are literary festivals and music festivals. But event Founder and President Mark Mustian said few, if any, combine music and literature like the Word of South Festival does.

"I mean there's nothing exactly like this. It's really gratifying to hear people say, 'I come from Cocoa Beach every year because there's nothing like this!' I had someone tell me tonight they have friends coming from Virginia. It's pretty cool."

This year's Word of South kicks off Friday, April 24th with Earth, Wind and Fire on the stage of Cascades Park's Adderley Amphitheater.
