In recent years, Tallahassee's south side lost both of its commercial pharmacies. Now two new pharmacies have opened in the area in less than two weeks.

The Bond Community Health Center opened its remote pharmacy in the 1500 block of South Monroe Street on November 12th. On November 17th, the Care Point Center in the 2200 block held a grand opening for its new in-house pharmacy. Amber Tynan is the executive director of Big Bend Cares, which runs the center.

"We are restoring access very similar to our partners at Bond and the future neighborhood (facility) to where folks can get access to their medications where they live, work and receive care."

Tynan says the Care Point Pharmacy will have regular weekday hours. It plans to expand its after-hours access early in 2026.
