This year is the 15th anniversary of Tallahassee's Energy Ball. The event, a celebration of environmental resilience and stewardship, happens Thursday evening at Goodwood Museum and Gardens.
Although there have been setbacks for environmental activists in recent years, Rethink Energy Florida's Kim Ross says there have also been accomplishments.
"Part of what we need to do to remain there for the long haul is to celebrate our successes. It's to pat each other on the back. It's to come together in community and lift each other up to say we've done a good job, we're going to keep going and we're going to do that together."
Highlights of the happening include live music, the Energy Innovator Award and green outfit contest. The special guest host is former Leon County commissioner and environmental advocate Cliff Thaell.
