A stated goal of Florida State University's School of Medicine is to bring health services into outlying areas. An event in support of that will happen in Wakulla County this coming Saturday.

FSU Health Services held its initial remote health fair last year at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Ursula Weiss leads the community engagement efforts under the FSU Health banner.

"Part of our community engagement framework under FSU Health is meeting people where they are. We want to make sure we can bring needed health services, education and resources directly to the communities that need them the most. We think it's really important, instead of expecting residents and community members to come to clinics on campuses, that we can come to then."

So this Saturday, October 18 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Wakulla County Community Center in Crawfordville, Weiss says there will be more than 70 information booths about wellness resources in the area, along with healthy living presentations and lots of food trucks.
