After operating for several months at low power, the installation of the new WFSU-FM solid-state transmitter is complete.
Over the last 10 years, WFSU has replaced all five of our full-power transmitters to remove non-functioning equipment and adopt new technology.
Our next phase will launch HD radio for our entire broadcast area, which will make additional frequencies available to listeners with an HD radio. This will include BEACON (Broadcast Emergency Alerts and Communications Operations Network), a collaboration across the state to deliver emergency messages and life-saving updates from public safety agencies quickly and in multiple languages. WFSU will provide more information when those channels become available.
THANK YOU to our listeners for your patience during these changes, and for your donations that support our important services.
