OLLI representatives Jan Smith and Tonia Murray were educating visitors to the Tallahassee Downtown Market on Sept. 6 about the many benefits of taking courses through the program.

For 35 years, Florida State University has offered non-credit courses to everyone through the OLLI program, which stands for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, commonly known as "OLLI." Its new semester kicks off this week.

OLLI's Tonia Murray and Jan Smith had an information booth set up at this weekend's Tallahassee Downtown Market. Smith says the joy of the program is simply learning new things without pressure or penalty.

"No notes, no tests, it's just learn and be happy and you meet a lot of people. You makes a lot of friends and it's a great organization."

OLLI instructors will give an overview of the many available courses at FSU's Turnbull Center this Wednesday between 1 and 3. Online course registration is Friday.
