The next best thing to a full-blown George Clinton concert happened at Tallahassee's Req Room the evening of Saturday, July 19.

Keyboard master Danny Bedrosian has been with legendary funkmeister George Clinton for years.

"My first gig was at The Moon of all places, playing Fender-Rhodes (electric piano) for George Clinton in September of '03," he recalled.

Saturday night, Bedrosian brought some musical colleagues with him to the Req Room next door to the Blue Tavern.

"This is the backline that you guys would see if you went to see George Clinton with Parliament and Funkadelic," he told the crowd, which burst into loud applause.

Bedrosian and the Secret Army trio then wowed the overflow crowd for hours. The group had backed Clinton a few months ago during the Word of South Festival at Cascades Park.
