One of the longest-running North Florida music festivals is the Tallahassee Museum's Swamp Stomp. The 47th Swamp Stomp is set for this Saturday.

This yearly celebration of local singers and songwriters has been an eagerly awaited Tallahassee occasion since 1979 when it began as a folk music festival. This year, the event will feature nine solo and ensemble music acts. Although Museum Marketing Manager Jess Wackes said it's really a bit more than that.

"It is a celebration of community first and foremost alongside a celebration of the music and the art that comes out of this region."

Swamp Stomp begins at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and continues until 9:00 p.m.
