Tallahassee may be no longer on a major railroad main line, but that doesn't mean there won't be a lot of trains in town this coming weekend. It will be the Big Bend Model Railroad Association's Show and Sale.
"The great thing about our show is we sell a lot of new and used and you can find a lot of great deals on used equipment that's not subject to any of these tariffs or anything else. They're going for some pretty decent prices, so it's a lot of both. I tell everybody if you can't find it at our show, it's not available. You can't find it."
The Association's Andy Zimmerman says the show had humble beginnings at the Tallahassee Moose Lodge 34 years ago. Now the two-day extravaganza is considered among the biggest in the southeast, attracting dozens of vendors from all over the region. Among this year's special features, Zimmerman says the show will feature a gigantic train layout made totally from Lego blocks.
"The Lego group has decided they're going to come in and do this layout. I think it's 11 by 32 or something like that. It's a big layout!"
The show takes place this Saturday from 9 to 5 and Sunday 9 to 3 at the North Florida Fairgrounds.
