Tallahassee police say a 5-year-old was found unresponsive at her home on Monday.

A 5-year-old Tallahassee girl is dead, and her mom and stepdad are facing charges related to child abuse and neglect.

Tallahassee police say the child was found unresponsive at her home in the 4100 block of Kipling Ct. on Monday.

35-year-old Daniel Spencer and 23-year-old Chloe Spencer were arrested after officers found what they called suspicious bruising and injury patterns on the little girl. TPD says more charges may be filed pending the results of the autopsy.

Daniel Spencer was investigated for the alleged sexual abuse of the child but never charged. He was previously convicted of travelling to meet a minor for sex.
