Tallahassee's 25th Annual Chain of Parks Art Festival happens April 25th and 26th. But there was a special recognition on Wednesday, April 16th for the person who's guided the event for 20 of those 25 years.

Outgoing Festival Chair Kelly Dozier said she never saw it coming.

"Absolutely! A total surprise!" she admitted, still looking a bit shell shocked.

Dozier's Lemoyne Arts colleagues had led her to the west edge of Lewis Park. There had been placed a metal plaque celebrating her long festival leadership along with a camellia bush.

"(I'm) deeply honored and appreciative for this recognition. It's just awesome!"

Dozier will be at the helm for one more Chain of Parks Festival April 25th and 26th. Taking over the job next year will be festival manager, Powell Kreis.
