The Tallahassee City Commission has its annual retreat and a regular meeting all on the same day this Wednesday.
The Commission has a yearly retreat where they get staff presentations about the city’s various departments, projects, and progress on prior goals.
But this time, the commission will also start discussing its 2025-2029 strategic plan. That plan is passed every five years and goes over the primary goals for the city. The draft published in the retreat agenda has a host of priorities, including boosting the economic impact of Tallahassee International Airport and improving housing affordability.
During the city commission meeting later in the day, members will discuss whether to shutter the Tallahassee Citizens Police Review Board. That comes after a state law essentially gutted the investigation and other capabilities that similar review boards across Florida can have.
