Tallahassee's historic Miccosukee Land Coop has always been a refuge for creative folks. That artistry takes flight every year during the Holiday Art Affair.
In 1994, Coop resident Marjean Machulis started the event shortly after the tragic death of her 17-year old daughter. Since then, Machulis said that tribute has become a community touchstone and a huge hit with local fans of hand-crafted work.
"I think it attracts more people because we crave that heart and connection. We crave that sense of belonging and community and we represent that here."
Offerings at the Art Affair ranged from rustic handcrafts to gallery-quality fine art creations.
