The schedule for the 2025 edition of the Tallahassee Word of South Festival is out. Dozens of musicians and writers from near and far will attract thousands of people to Cascades Park the weekend of April 4th.
This will be the 10th year for the festival, which was founded by local writer Mark Mustian in 2015. Each year, there's been a nationally recognized headline act for the Friday night ticketed show in the Adderley Amphitheatre. Mustian said this year is no exception.
"We're excited to have Violent Femmes with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. So we sought this for a long time and managed to pull it off so we're super excited!"
Mustian said tickets for that April 4th performance are going fast. Free, non-ticketed offerings on April 5th and 6th will include a continuous parade of writers and musicians performing and discussing their work.
