Since it was first performed in 1892, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet has been a staple of the holiday season. And, for the past 35 years, Tallahassee's Pas de Vie Ballet Company has been providing that tradition to the Capital City.
Carrie Holden is the chair of the Pas de Vie Ballet board.
"We are ringing in the holidays with 'The Nutcracker' at Lee Hall Auditorium November 23rd and 24th."
Holden says preparation for this ambitious rendition of the classic began back in September.
"And we have about 50 company members, aged 7 through adult, that are onstage. We've got over 120 costumes. And of course we have 2 very wonderful former dancers with the Pittsburgh Ballet that are leading this dance troupe to a really amazing performance coming up."
