Temples are a sacred place for Latter-day Saint Church members. Only members can enter, except for this open house period.

A new temple in Tallahassee is opening its doors to the public starting for a brief time.

The Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting an open house Nov. 4 - 23, excluding Sundays. The tours are free and no reservations are needed.

After the open house, the temple will be open only to members of the Church and used for sacred ceremonies. It will serve more than 30,000 members of the Church in 77 congregations.

The 29,000 square foot building sits on about 5 acres on Papillion Way, facing Thomasville Road in northeast Tallahassee. The single story building stands 125 feet tall.
